What is the scope of this privacy policy?
The Sun-To-X consortium is the data controller responsible for the processing of users' personal data on this website. The site is built and operated on the consortium's behalf by LGI. The project, coordinated by Toyota Motor Europe, has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 883264. Personal data is processed in accordance with the provisions of the regulations in force regarding the protection of personal data (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, GDPR).
The Sun-To-X project has ended; this website is maintained as a public archive of the project, its results and its news. It contains no contact forms and collects no personal data through forms of its own.
For what purposes may we process your personal data?
- To present the project, its partners, its news and its public results (deliverables, publications, communication material).
- To allow users to consult and download the project's public documents.
- To manage subscriptions to the project's newsletter (handled through an external form operated by LGI, see below).
- To ensure the technical operation and security of the website.
Which personal data do we collect?
- IP address
- Browser information
- The external webpage from which you visited our site
- Pages you visited on our website
- Time at which the pages were visited
- Cookies and your consent preferences (see below)
How do we use cookies?
We use a minimal, consent-based approach to cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential storage. We store your cookie choices in your browser's local storage (under the key
sun2x_cookie_consent) so we can remember your preferences. No consent is required for this, and it is not used for tracking. - Third-party video embeds (Vimeo). The homepage features an embedded project video hosted by Vimeo. It is not loaded until you explicitly accept it, either through the cookie banner or directly where the video appears on the page. Once accepted, Vimeo may set its own third-party cookies and process your data under its own privacy policy.
- Third-party video embeds (YouTube). One news article (“Sustainable Places Conference”) features an embedded YouTube video. When you visit that page, your browser connects to youtube.com to display the video, which transmits your IP address to YouTube (Google), who may set its own third-party cookies under its own privacy policy.
- Other third-party resources. For full transparency, the pages of this site load the Montserrat font from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). These requests do not set tracking cookies, but they transmit your IP address to Google in order to display the font. They are disclosed here in accordance with our transparency obligations.
- External services linked from this site. Some links take you to external services which process your data under their own privacy policies: the newsletter subscription form (operated by LGI at app.lgi-consulting.org), the Newsletter #1 archive (hosted by Brevo, formerly Sendinblue), the partners' internal collaboration platform (app.flexx.camp), and the project's LinkedIn and X (Twitter) pages. No data is transmitted to these services unless you click the corresponding link.
When you first visit the homepage, a consent banner lets you accept all cookies or only essential ones. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage; you may change your mind at any time by clearing this website's site data in your browser settings, after which the banner will be shown again.
How is your personal data protected?
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against the following risks:
- Loss: data are no longer available.
- Leaks: data falling into the wrong hands.
- Errors: data are not correct; for example, obsolete or incomplete.
- Not accessible: data are not accessible when required.
- Wrongful access: viewed by persons who are not authorized to do so.
What are your rights?
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
How to access your data?
To exercise any of these rights, or for any question about how we handle your personal data, you can get in touch with us at any time via contact@sun-to-x.eu.
